Simian Citadel is the 16th level in Ape Escape 2.

Description

Simian Citadel is a lofty series of marble buildings with an apparent star motif. The level is heavily based on Ancient Greek architecture, with the marble pillars bearing a close resemblance to those found in Athens. The exterior portions of the levels reveal that the citadel sits above a vast desert, the night sky being filled with many bright stars.

Strategy

Green Monkeys: Many green pants monkeys appear in this level. If this monkey is cautiously looking around, Jimmy should stay still, and even duck down on the ground by holding L3 to approach with a crawl and holding R3 while crawling to play dead until the monkey loses sight of him. If spotted, the homing missiles from the monkeys backpack can be outlasted if avoided for a little while, and the player can circle around to approach the monkey while avoiding these missiles.

A Secret Monkey: The secret monkey Tommy can be found towards the end of the level. After the submarine section, there's an open courtyard with a star-shaped water fountain. Tommy appears in the middle of the central pavilion, but only after you have obtained the Magic Punch.
