Nuttcases are enemies that appear in Ape Escape.
Appearance[]
Nuttcases are enigmatic creatures of black skin and red eyes that hide themselves in a purple egg-shaped stone shell that has intricate carvings around it. They possess plum colored feet and horns.
Strategy[]
Nuttcases remain dormant and don't mind Spike. However, if you approach them too close, they'll wake up and start to spin towards you without rest until you're out of their attack radius. They become invincible against the Stun Club as they spin, meaning if you attack them with it you'll only briefly push them away.
Once you are away from their reach, the Nuttcases will stop spinning and slowly waddle back to their spot to go back to sleep. They are completely harmless in this state and they're also vulnerable to attacks, meaning you can take them down with a single swing from the Stun Club. While this is the recommended way to deal with them, you can also push them with the Stun Club as they spin until they're far enough from their resting spot, after which they'll stop spinning and try to go back to their nest as usual. If you have Explosive Bullets available, you can also destroy them from the distance with the Slingback Shooter as they're slumbering.
In replays of Cryptic Relics you can easily kill them using the Magic Punch as the hit will go through them even if they're spinning.
