The Monkey Book from the first Ape Escape game
In the Ape Escape games, the Monkepedia (Monkepaedia in PAL game versions) contains the Monkey Radar data on all the Monkeys you have captured. Each entry is sorted by level, and the Monkepedia is slightly different in each game. This article is intended to cover the Monkeypedias from every game.
Ape Escape[]
The Monkey Book, as it is known in Ape Escape, is a database in the Load/Save area of the Time Station. It contains data on their names, their "Monkey Level", and a profile image, as well as their Speed, Attack, and Alert stats, followed by a brief description of their personality. While not explicitly stated in the game, it is implied that the Monkey Level is an overall rating based on how easy they are to capture. This number ranges from 1 to 7, with 1 being the lowest rating. Specter does not have an entry in this version.

Ape Escape: On the Loose[]
On the surface, the Monkey Book for On the Loose is identical to the original Ape Escape, but there are actually quite a few differences. It shows their Monkey Level, Speed, Attack, and Alert stats, just as before, but with entirely different monkey names. A complete list of differences can be found in the Trivia section below.

Ape Escape: On the Loose - Trivia[]
- Unlike other games in the series, the NTSC-U/C and PAL versions of this game are largely in agreement over the names and descriptions, with much fewer differences between them.
- This game also lists the monkeys in a slightly different order, such as the "Triceratops wrangler" monkey being listed in the middle of Molten Lava instead of at the end.
- Some monkeys have different stats, such as "Carl Eek-is" from Dark Ruins having 1 Attack point instead of 2.
- Most of the levels use the NTSC-U/C names and eras, except for the "Futurama" era, which was given the PAL name "Present Day".
- Sushi Temple was renamed to "Wabi Sabi Temple" to better reflect the Japanese name of the original level.
- Wabi Sabi Wall was renamed to "Tiki Tiki Wall".
- The final level, which had the era name "Specter Land" and level name "Monkey Madness" in the NTSC-U/C version of Ape Escape[1], had those names swapped for On the Loose, so "Monkey Madness" is now the era, and "Specter Land" the level[2][3].
Ape Escape 2[]
In Ape Escape 2, the collection of monkey information begins to be referred to as the Monkepedia and for each individual monkey contains information on the level they appear in, their name, a personality trait, the monkey's means of attack, stats for alertness; aggression; speed; stomach fullness, as well as their pants type and finally a phrase which the monkey is saying or thinking. Specter and The Freaky Monkey Five are absent from this version.
