Lookout Valley is the 12th level in Ape Escape 2.

Description

Lookout Valley is a peaceful, mountainous area with jungles, caves, rivers, waterfalls, and cliffs. Further inland are water mills powering large machinery, wooden bridges, piranha-infested waters, and docks.

Strategy

Red Monkeys: The red pants monkeys are introduced here. These monkeys are great fighters and have a lot of quick attacks. Dodge their charge attack and it will give you an opening to capture them. Be cautious, they're more aggressive than regular monkeys.

Flying High: With the newly acquired Sky Flyer, the player can reach places they couldn't usually by jumping. This is taken full advantage of in this level, so be prepared to fly to some higher locations. Remember that you can knock down monkeys hanging on objects and enemies in midair by using the Sky Flyer to hit them while you fly upwards.

Trivia

• Livingstone's name and description is a reference to Dr. David Livingstone, who lost contact with the outside world while exploring Africa, but was later found by Sir Henry Morton Stanley, who greeted him with "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" His name is also used comedically here, as he can be found living in a stone.
• Simian Tell's name is a reference to William Tell, who shoots an apple off his son's head to prove his accuracy with a crossbow. This monkey also appears in Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed and rewards you after winning Slingshots 1.
