Frosty Retreat, or Icicle Cave (ツラーラどうくつ) in PAL regions and Japan, is the 12th level in Ape Escape and Ape Escape: On the Loose.
Description[]
Spike enters a tall mountain where a secret dam was built by the monkeys to take the place as their home. Due to the long chasms and tall ledges that are common in this zone, Spike gets sent the Sky Flyer by Natalie and the Professor to float across safely the obstacles and reach for some of the most difficult monkeys to catch.

Go Catch the Monkeys![]
After successfully completing the Sky Flyer's training, Spike sets to catch 6 apes. Two of them built themselves an improvised shelter near the cliffside's exit and can be seen through a transparent layer of ice.
The mountain's inside mostly consists of a gauntlet of obstacles that you are required to pass timing correctly your jumps and actions, specially towards the end with the rolling giant snowballs and the ice stairs that become slides.
The final section is more free to explore and this time you can dive in the water with the Water Net without getting damage unlike the past level, but the Boat provided here is still useful to avoid the Jellyfish infesting the lagoon.
All of the 9 monkeys available in the level can be caught from the first visit, including Droog (Shaky).
Specter Coins Locations[]
Storm's Shelter - Inside Storm (Lara) and Qube's (Speedy's) shelter the coin can be seen floating above the table. With the help of the recently-acquired Sky Flyer it shouldn't be an issue to grab.
Mountain's Pond - Right before climbing where the wall of spikes is you'll find a pond that's guarded by a Freezer and where Gash (Salsa) might run to in order to escape you. In the left corner you'll find the coin floating on the ground.
Under the Launchpad - The third coin is sunk right under the launchpad where UFO comes out. All you need to do is swim there with the Water Net avoiding the Jellyfish.
