Castle Frightmare! is the 6th level in Ape Escape 2.

Description

Castle Frightmare is a castle with a small graveyard out the front. Inside the mansion, it introduces more platforming such as jumping on chairs and dodging giant swinging bananas. There is also a secret area with chemicals and coffins.

Strategy

New Monkeys: This level introduces multiple new monkey variations, one of which being the white pants monkey. These monkeys throw bombs at the player, but they have terrible sight. Use this to your advantage by sneaking up on them. This level also introduces monkeys with armor. In order to catch them, you must first break their armor with the Stun Club or Magic Punch.

Bone-Rattling Robot: The mini-boss of this area is the 'RoboSkeleton'. It can be defeated by hitting the button on its back three times. To make this easier, the player can destroy its head and chainsaw. If both are destroyed, the robot will start panicking and run away from the player.

Time Trial

The time trial for this level requires you to catch 4 monkeys.
